We run Riverkids pretty much on a shoestring!
We raise most of our funds through donations. Our fair trade shop also helps fund the less exciting costs – photocopying, rent and utilities.
In Singapore, cheques to ‘Riverkids Project’ can be sent to our mailing address: Riverkids, 32 Hooper Road, Singapore 229209.
Our Singapore bank account is “Riverkids Project” at OCBC, and the bank account number is 524715711-001.
Donations of items, while warmly welcomed, should be checked with us first to make sure we can use them! They can be delivered to our office at Block 125, Bukit Merah Lane 1, #04-166, Singapore 150125.
We are proud to work with Blue Tide Foundation, our official US fundraising partner. U.S. tax-deductible donations can be made through Blue Tide’s website.
Our financial records are available online.
Give something special: Find out exactly what we need from school books to water filters to library trips!

But the single best way to help us? Donate every month so we can keep our doors wide open for kids at risk. Thank you!
Oh, there are so many things $10 can buy! From tuk-tuk transportation for children to the doctor’s, field-trips and school, to art supplies for a month to shampoo and soap for all our classes.
Breakfast for an entire class of our Grade Schoolers or Kindergartners (with a snack!) for a month. Most of our kids are malnourished. Simple local meals with eggs, fruit and access to lots of clean water makes a huge difference to their basic health.
Food Box programme for a young girl at high risk for trafficking. Without food support, her family would be forced to send her to work and she would be unable to study full-time. We buy basic nutritious groceries wholesale and make sure she can attend school well-fed, rested and most of all – safe.
A housemother’s monthly salary. We find compassionate older women living near the slums who works six days a week at the house, turning it into a second home for our kids. She keeps it clean and tidy, prepares meals, helps the children bathe and brush their teeth, looks after the sick ones from band-aids to fevers, and all the little things children need to be cared for. Together with our social workers, housemothers are the ‘front-line’ for Riverkids.
We keep our costs super-low by renting right inside the slums. Kids don’t need fancy facilities, just a roof that doesn’t leak, walls to put up finger-paintings and space to play. Renting the Kindergarten house, grade school and space for our Family house makes everything else possible.
Well, you’re just about the loveliest person we know then! We’d just be thrilled to bits if we could get a couple of people to pitch in like this. It means stability to plan for these kids’ futures, resources to provide more counseling, sponsor kids into individual tuition, microfinance loans…. so much can be done.
THANK YOU!
