Riverkids is designed to work from what families need, rather than developing a program and finding families that need that. We seek out and work with families at high risk for child trafficking and exploitation.
There is no single magic solution. A family may need just one program like our Kindergarten, or could need up to ten programs to protect their children and repair their family. Our biggest programs are education and food, but we have programs all the way down to one child or family.
To build a deep sense of community, we keep each site to around 150 children. We have three active sites now, Alexandra, Blum, and Railway Two, and by the end of 2010, will have two more, Alexandra Two and Kilomet Six, in Phnom Penh. Read more about how we set up sites.
