Our social workers are our eyes and ears. Playing a critical frontline role, they work directly with children and families. Usually, they will visit 3 to 5 families in-depth each week, provide individual and family counselling, life skills and parenting workshops, and track their caseload of children, depending on the level of crisis. They need to foresee and intervene before a crisis turns into child trafficking and exploitation.
We have four social workers currently, and are seeking funds to recruit another and a counsellor so we can provide on-site counselling for children, rather than referrals, as we are increasingly getting reports of sexual assault and trauma.
