We've been very fortunate to find an accountancy firm
in Singapore that is doing our books at reduced
rates. They are now working on our accounts to date
from January 2007 to September 2007, and then we will
be getting a quarterly report from October 2007
onwards.
The report will include donations, Riverkids Shop,
and expenses in Singapore and Cambodia. In Cambodia,
we will be separating expenses by site.
We are now looking for a part-time accounts manager
in Cambodia to visit the site offices and compile
receipts and statements on a monthly basis. These
reports will go to the accountant in Singapore, and
they will also continue to individually be checked by
Singapore staff when we visit Cambodia.
Compiling accounts took up to three days a month, and
to have an external expert do them is a huge relief!
This will improve our efficiency as we grow larger
and more complex and keep our finances transparent
and open.
