October and November are pretty much done, but some details need to be checked before I post them. We are still waiting on our audited report from January to September 2007, then the quarterly report from the accountants, so we thought we'd post these first.

We've been very fortunate to find an accountancy firm in Singapore that is doing our books at reduced rates. They are now working on our accounts to date from January 2007 to September 2007, and then we will be getting a quarterly report from October 2007 onwards.

The report will include donations, Riverkids Shop, and expenses in Singapore and Cambodia. In Cambodia, we will be separating expenses by site.

We are now looking for a part-time accounts manager in Cambodia to visit the site offices and compile receipts and statements on a monthly basis. These reports will go to the accountant in Singapore, and they will also continue to individually be checked by Singapore staff when we visit Cambodia.

Compiling accounts took up to three days a month, and to have an external expert do them is a huge relief! This will improve our efficiency as we grow larger and more complex and keep our finances transparent and open.

June finances are finally up - Cambodia's paperwork is much more organised now, but the Singapore paperwork is in files, so I only have the bits in emails on record until I can get the receipts file back for the shop related expenses.

We actually came up short on paper, but we had enough leftover from previous months that we still have a bit in the bank. May had quite expensive with kitting out places, but we expect June to be fairly quiet. July with the upcoming funfair may add up, but we aim to cover that expense entirely with specific donor help.

In April, the Singapore team made two trips to Phnom Penh and helped equip Steven's House as it moved to Stage 2, and Alexandra House as it settled into Stage 1 for the Get Ready! pilot. A lot of the funds were received as specific donations from our What To Give fundraiser. Thank you!

In March, the Children's House was running at Stage 1 properly (tuition, snacks and volunteer classes with a housemother), and the Family House was getting organized to start Stage 1 in April or May.
