Collection of your Personal Information
Riverkids does not sell, rent or lease its donor lists to third parties. We will not sell, trade or rent your personal information, collected on the website or through any other business activities with, anyone else. We will not send you mailings on behalf of other organizations.
Riverkids may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Riverkids, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
Donations in Cambodia and Singapore
For donors making financial donations directly to Riverkids Foundation in Cambodia from October 2015, donor information, including the donor name, address and amount of donation, is required under Cambodian legislation to be compiled for reporting to the governmental authorities assigned to oversee the charity at that time.
For any other activities, including donations made directly to Riverkids Project Limited in Singapore, donor information will be handled according to the Personal Data Protection Act guidelines, and donor information will not be shared or resold with any third-parties without donor consent.
What we do with your information
When you fill out a form on our website or make a donation, as part of that process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.
When you browse our website, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
With your permission, we may send you emails about our work in Cambodia, new events and volunteering opportunities and other updates.
How do you get my consent?
When you provide us with personal information to complete a donation, apply for a mentor interview, sign up for an email newsletter or other services, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.
How do I withdraw my consent?
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org or mailing us at: Riverkids Project Limited, Blk 125 Bukit Merah Lane 1, #04-166, Singapore 150125.
At any time, you can ask us for a copy of the personal information that we hold about you or request a correction or deletion of information.
We may use your personal information to acknowledge you by name and/or description of donation in certain printed materials, such as the annual report and event invitations or programs, or the organization’s website. We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.
Our website is hosted on Squarespace. Your data is stored through Squarespace’s data storage, databases and the general Squarespace application.
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your donation-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.
As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.
When you click on links on our website, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you are under 18, be sure to obtain your parent's or guardian's permission before you send any information about yourself (your name, address, e-mail address, etc.) to us or anyone else over the internet. We encourage parents to get involved with their children's use of the internet and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating.
